The study Media Freedom Poll 2023 is the most extensive public opinion survey of its kind ever conducted
The Media Freedom Poll is now in its second year and offers a unique insight into public opinion on media freedom and independence in the Visegrad region. It was commissioned by the Committee for Editorial Independence of the media house Economia in cooperation with the newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza and the Reporters Without Borders, with funding provided by the Bakala Foundation.
There is a strong consensus among the Visegrad Four countries that the EU must take measures to protect independent and quality media. The survey is therefore perceived as a new impulse for the European Union's efforts to create a common framework aimed at protecting independent and quality journalism in all member states.
Leading European media and journalistic organizations reported on the survey
